Chart performance

"Heatwave" was number 1 on the Wednesday and Friday UK midweek chart.[3][4] As predicted, the song entered the UK Singles Chart on 5 August 2012 at number 1, spending two weeks there (holding off "We'll Be Coming Back" by Calvin Harris and Example). "Heatwave" sold over 114,000 copies in its first week of release and became Wiley's first ever solo number 1 single. In the second week of release, Wiley remained at number 1, selling another 66,000.[5] The song has sold 416,000 copies in the UK as of December 2012, and was the 38th best-selling single of 2012.[6]
