Hector Davies Morgan (1785 – 23 December 1850) was a British clergyman, theologian and author of several books on the History of the Church of England.

He was born in 1785 in London, England.[1]

He was born into a Welsh speaking family. He was the only son of Hector Davies and Sophia Davies.[2]

Upon his grandfather's death in 1800 he succeeded to the name, arms and estate of Morgan.[3]

He died on 23 December 1850 in the United Kingdom.[4]

Education

He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford, where he completed his B.A. degree in 1806 and his M.A. degree in 1815.[5]

Career

He delivered the Bampton Lectures in 1819.[6]

He authored a number of books on the History of the Church of England.[7]
