Heriaeus xanderi is a species of spider in the family Thomisidae.[2] It is commonly known as Xander's hairy crab spider.[3]
Heriaeus xanderi is found in Tanzania and South Africa.[2]
In South Africa, it is known from two provinces including KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga.[3] This species is undercollected and is suspected to occur in more African countries.[3]

Heriaeus xanderi is protected in two reserves including Mkhuze Game Reserve and Hluhluwe Nature Reserve.[3] Due to its large range, the species is listed as Least Concern by the South African National Biodiversity Institute.[3]
