Hermenegild Makoro (born December 7, 1951) is a South African religious sister, currently serving as the Secretary-General of the Southern African Catholic Bishops' Conference since 2012.[1][2]
Makoro was born in the district of Mount Fletcher in Eastern Cape Province, the second of four children and only daughter.[3]
She received a Bachelor of Theology from the University of Natal and an education degree from the University of Transkei.[4]
