Hilda Assiyatun is an Indonesian mathematician, a professor in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Bandung Institute of Technology,[1] the vice president for education and teaching of the Indonesian Mathematical Society (IndoMS),[2] and the president of the Indonesian Combinatorial Society (InaCombS).[3] Her research has concerned graph theory, with topics including graph Ramsey theory, the metric dimension of graphs, and graph coloring.[4]
Assiyatun received the equivalent of a bachelor's and master's degree from the Bandung Institute of Technology in 1992 and 1995 respectively.[1] She completed a Ph.D. in Australia in 2002, at the University of Melbourne, with the dissertation Large Subgraphs of Regular Graphs supervised by Nick Wormald.[5] Through her collaborations with Wormald on the paper 3-star factors in random d-regular graphs, she has Erdős number 2.[6]
At the Bandung Institute of Technology, Assiyatun was promoted to full professor in Ramsey theory in 2023,[7] and gave her inaugural lecture as professor in 2024.[8]
