Homosexualization

Portraying heterosexuals as LGBTI people in order to discredit them

Homosexualization is the practice of attributing a homosexual orientation to individuals who are heterosexual, or whose sexual orientation is unknown, usually in order to discredit or ridicule them.[2]
This type of propaganda has been used especially in social contexts marked by homophobia, where widespread rejection of homosexuality can create a negative perception of politicians, leaders, or public figures.[3]
From the Cold War to the present day, it has been a common disinformation practice of the CIA aimed at damaging the reputation of foreign leaders, such as Raúl Castro, Yasser Arafat, Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, Muammar Gaddafi or Mojtaba Khamenei.[4][5][6]
