Honeyjoon is a dark comedy feature film written and directed by Lilian T. Mehrel, in her directorial debut. It stars Ayden Mayeri, Amira Casar and José Condessa. "A surprisingly sexy, darkly funny, emotional rollercoaster" — Honeyjoon won the biggest film production prize in the world with the Tribeca AT&T Untold Stories Award and premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 7, 2025.[2]

In this light-and-dark comedy, June and her Persian-British mother Lela travel to a romantic Azorean island for a grief anniversary, with contrasting ways of coping. Production
Honeyjoon is produced by Andreia Nunes and Lilian T. Mehrel, with Wonder Maria Filmes and Bärli Films. It was developed at the TorinoFilmLab,[4] ComedyLab and CineQuaNonLab,[5] and won the SFFILM Rainin Grant.[6]
The project won the biggest film production prize in the world, with the Tribeca AT&T Untold Stories Award for $1 million.[7]
Principal photography took place November 2024 - December 2025, for 20 days.[8] Ayden Mayeri, Amira Casar and José Condessa were announced as cast.[9]
