Hortipes wimmertensi is a species of spider in the family Corinnidae.[2] It is endemic to South Africa and is commonly known as Wimmertens' basket-legged spider.[3]
Hortipes wimmertensi is endemic to KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa.[3] It has been recorded from Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve and Port Shepstone.[3]
Habitat and ecology
The species inhabits the Savanna biome at altitudes ranging from 66 to 410 m above sea level.[3] It is strongly associated with leaf litter in woodland and forest habitats, occurring in Eastern Valley Bushveld and the KwaZulu-Natal Coastal Belt.[3]
