Housing Act 1936

The Housing Act 1936 (26 Geo. 5 & 1 Edw. 8. c. 51) was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that consolidated enactments relating to housing in England and Wales.[1]

Subsequent developments

Parts I to IV of the act, together with substantial portions of Parts V, VI, VII and VIII, were repealed by section 191 of, and the eleventh schedule to, the Housing Act 1957 (5 & 6 Eliz. 2. c. 56), which came into force on 1 September 1957.[3]

The whole act was repealed by section 59 of, and the sixth schedule to, the Housing (Financial Provisions) Act 1958 (6 & 7 Eliz. 2. c. 42), which came into force on 23 October 1958.[4]
