Hypostomus macushi[1] is a species of catfish in the family Loricariidae. It is native to South America, where it occurs in the Essequibo River, the Ireng River, the Rupununi, and the Takutu River along the border of Brazil and Guyana. The species is typically seen near dead, submerged wood in areas with moderate to fast-flowing water. The species reaches 17 cm (6.7 inches) SL and is believed to be a facultative air-breather.
