Héliopolis, Algeria, is a town and commune in Guelma Province, Algeria. According to the 1998 census it has a population of 22,605.[1]
Name
Geography
The terrain around Héliopolis is mainly hilly, but the southeast is flat. The highest point in the vicinity is 426 meters above sea level, 1.9 km northeast of the Héliopolis. The surrounding area is quite densely populated, with 129 inhabitants per square kilometers.[2] The nearest city is Guelma, 4.8 km south of Héliopolis.[3] The landscape around Héliopolis features an unusually high number of named mountains.
