Indian Secular Front (ISF),[1][2][3] registered as All India Secular Front,[4] is a political party in India founded by Abbas Siddiqui in 2021. Currently allied with Left Front-led Alliance, the party is chaired by Naushad Siddiqui and has its headquarters located at Furfura Sharif in Hooghly district.[5]

History

ISF was formed ahead of the West Bengal Assembly election of 2021[6] and joined the Sanjukta Morcha,[7] led by the Left Front and the Indian National Congress[7] against the Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.[8] It contested the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election in 38 seats and won in 1 seat.[9] The party fought the election under the borrowed symbol of Rashtriya Secular Majlis Party, a Bihar-based political party. Afterwards, ahead of 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, ISF again joined the alliance led by CPI(M)-led Left Front.[10]

Electoral performance

For the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, the ISF allied with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Indian National Congress in an alliance named Sanjukta Morcha. Nawsad Siddique is the only MLA from the party.

Criminal controversies

Prior to the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, bombs and guns were recovered by the police from the residence of Ziarul Mollah, a party worker.[11]
