Irattakuttikalude Achan (transl.Father of twins) is a 1997 Indian Malayalam-language family drama film directed by Sathyan Anthikad and written by Sreenivasan, adapted from the novella of the same name by C. V. Balakrishnan. It stars Jayaram and Manju Warrier, while Murali, Urmila Unni, Sreenivasan and Lalu Alex appears in supporting roles.[1] The film was remade in Telugu as Ooyala (1998).[2]

Plot

The story revolves around the life of Rajeevan who elopes with a rich girl. Later when persuaded he gives away one of his twin children to a stranger who lost all his children at birth.

The film is an adaptation of the novella of the same name, written by C. V. Balakrishnan. Sathyan Anthikad later commented that, as a father of twin sons, the title was the first aspect of the book that drew his attention.[3]
