Ivan Kharchenkov (born 20 September 2006) is a German-Russian college basketball player for the Arizona Wildcats of the Big 12 Conference.

Kharchenkov was born in Moscow, Russia, and grew up in Germany.[1] He began his basketball career playing for the youth squads of DJK Landsberg and TS Jahn München, before joining FC Bayern Munich in 2017.[2][3] In November 2022, Kharchenkov played his first game for Bayern Munich at 16 years old, becoming the youngest player to score a basket in the Bundesliga since 1998.[4] In May 2024, he received a three-year contract from FC Bayern Munich.[5] During the 2024–25 season, Kharchenkov averaged 5.2 points per game.[6] In July 2025, he committed to play college basketball in the United States at the University of Arizona.[7]

College career

As a true freshman, Kharchenkov made an instant impact starting in every game.[8] Throughout the duration of the season, he emerged as one of the Wildcat's top defenders.[9] In his collegiate debut against Florida, Kharchenkov recorded a double-double totaling 12 points and 10 rebounds.[10]

National team career

Kharchenkov played for the Germany men's national under-18 basketball team at the 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket in Finland. He averaged 17.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, helping his team win the gold medal.[11]
