History
The community was named after James Ivey.[4] The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Ivey in 1950.[5]

Ivey is located at 32°54′33″N 83°18′3″W (32.909078, -83.300808).[6] According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.0 square miles (7.8 km2), of which 2.6 square miles (6.7 km2) is land and 0.4 square miles (1.0 km2) (14.09%) is water.
