Izatha

Genus of moths From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Izatha is a genus of moths of the family Oecophoridae.[1] They are commonly known as lichen tuft moths.[2] This genus was first described by Francis Walker in 1864[3] and is endemic to New Zealand.[4] In 1915 Edward Meyrick synonymised the genus Semiocosma with this genus.[5] The original description did not have a note about the etymology of the name Izatha. The meaning of the name is not clear.[3]
