J.C. Marc Richard is a Canadian lawyer who is the current Chief Justice of New Brunswick since 2018. He was previously president of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of New Brunswick.[1]
Richard was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, the son of Rheal Richard and Florine Gallant.[2] He is married to Sabra Livingstone, and has one daughter.[3]
He graduated from the Universite de Moncton and the London School of Economics and Political Science.[1][4]
Richard has worked on judicial reform in Moldova and Mongolia.[5]
Richard is a co-author of the 2025 paper "Access to Knowledge as a Requirement for Access to Justice in New Brunswick".[6]
