Jacob Dawson (born 2 November 1993) is a rower representing Great Britain.[1] He is an Olympic and world champion with both those titles won in the men's eight event.

Dawson was introduced to rowing at age 14 at the Start Centre in his hometown of Plymouth, England.[1] His early club rowing was from the Plymouth Amateur Rowing Club.[2] He attended the Plymstock Secondary School.[citation needed]

Following his success at the Coupe de la Jeunesse in 2011, Dawson was offered an athletic scholarship at the University of Washington.[1] He studied geography and participated in their senior rowing program. He raced in the Huskies' 1st varsity eight in three of his four racing seasons at the university and was team captain in his senior year.[3]

Since making the senior British representative squad in 2017, Dawson's club rowing has been with Leander Club. In 2023, he won the Grand Challenge Cup (the blue riband event at the Henley Royal Regatta) rowing in a composite Leander/Oxford Brookes eight .[4]
