Janis Johnson McKenzie (born February 28, 1955) is an Democratic politician and educator from Nebraska who served as a member of the Nebraska Legislature from the 34th district from 1993 to 1997. She was appointed by Governor Ben Nelson in 1993, re-elected in 1994, and resigned in 1997 to become the director of gifted education in the Nebraska Department of Education.[1]
