Javiera Ignacia Morales Alvarado (born 16 November 1983) is a Chilean politician who serves as deputy.[2][3][4] She is a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile since 2022.[5]

She was born in Punta Arenas on 16 November 1983 and is from a family originally from Natales.[6]

She is the daughter of Galmier Roberto Morales Delgado and Virginia Patricia Alvarado Arteaga.[6]

She married Andrés Nicolás González Atala on 24 February 2018 and is the mother of twins.[6]

Professional life

She completed her secondary education in 2001 at Charles Darwin School in the commune of Punta Arenas.[6]

She qualified as a lawyer at the University of Chile in 2008, graduating with highest honours.[6] Between 2013 and 2015, she obtained a Master of Science in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a Master of Science in Democracy and Comparative Politics from University College London (UCL).[6]

Between May 2008 and June 2013, she worked as an associate at the law firm Correa Gubbins. During this period, she also served as an unpaid teaching assistant in Constitutional Law and Introduction to Law at the University of Chile.[6]
