Jessica Thompson (born 30 April 2007) is a South African competitive swimmer specializing in backstroke, butterfly, and freestyle sprint events.[1] She is the current African and South African record holder in the women's 50-metre backstroke in both long course and short course formats.[2] Thompson gained international recognition as a gold medalist at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games and a multi-record breaker at the 2025 and 2026 South African national championships.[3][4]
