The Jigawa State School of Midwifery was the first school of midwifery in the State of Jigawa in northern Nigeria.[1] The school is located in Birnin Kuddu town, 47 KM from Dutse, the State Capital.[2]

The school was created in March 2010 and founded by Aisha Moh’d Kazaure, who is a midwife and a teacher, because of the low number of midwives in the state of Jigawa. The funding came from the British Department for International Development which recognized that, while there are five million people who live in the state, there are less than 30 midwives.[3][4]
