James Robert Miller (born July 24, 1949) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive guard for three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

James Robert Miller was born on July 24, 1949, in Iowa City, Iowa.[1] He was a two sport (basketball and football) All-State athlete for Regina High School in Iowa City.[1]

Miller played college football at the University of Iowa as an offensive tackle.[2] He was on the freshman team in 1967.[1] He was then a three-year letterman and three-year starter for the Hawkeyes from 1968 to 1970.[1][3] He graduated with a business degree.[2]
