John Alden Boynton (born March 28, 1946) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive tackle for one season with the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers and was selected by the Dolphins in the seventh round of the 1968 NFL/AFL draft.

John Alden Boynton was born on March 28, 1946, in Pikeville, Tennessee.[1] He attended Bledsoe County High School in Pikeville.[1]

Boynton was a member of the Tennessee Volunteers of the University of Tennessee from 1964 to 1967 and a three-year letterman from 1965 to 1967.[1] He was named a second-team All-American by both the Central Press Association and Newspaper Enterprise Association his senior year in 1967.[2][3] He earned Associated Press and United Press International first-team All-SEC honors in 1967 as well.[4][5]
