John Fredric G. Wade (born 4 December 1968)[1] is a United States Navy vice admiral who has served as commander of the United States Third Fleet since 7 June 2024.[2] He most recently served as the commander of Joint Task Force - Red Hill from 2022 to 2024.[3][4] He previously served as the director of operations of the United States Indo-Pacific Command from 2020 to 2022.[5][6][7][8]

Wade graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1990 with a B.S. degree in economics. He later earned a master's degree in information systems technology from the Naval Postgraduate School and a second master's degree in national security strategy from the National War College.[5]
In May 2024, Wade was nominated for assignment as commander of the United States Third Fleet.[9]
In April 2026, Wade was nominated by President Trump to be the Senior Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense.
