John Gerard Fogarty KC (12 August 1947 – 10 December 2022) was a New Zealand jurist. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1990, and served as a judge at the High Court from 2003 to 2017.
Fogarty was born in Greymouth on 12 August 1947.[1] He studied law at the University of Canterbury, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1971, before completing a Master of Laws degree at the University of Toronto in 1974.[2][3]
