John Nelson Chiasson

Chiasson earned a BS in mathematics from the University of Arizona, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University, and a PhD in Control Science from the University of Minnesota.^[1]

Chiasson was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2012^[2] for contributions to control of electric machines and power converters.

He died of natural causes on February 26, 2025.^[3]
