Jorge Valdovinos

During his tenure as mayor of Concón, Valdovinos was involved in municipal governance during a period marked by both administrative activity and judicial scrutiny.^[3]

In 2011, he was formally charged for a second time in the so-called Messenger case, related to allegations of computer espionage within the municipality.^[3]

Subsequently, he was acquitted of the charges by the courts, which ruled in his favor in the case concerning alleged computer espionage.^[4]

Valdovinos remained active in local politics after leaving office. In 2020, he participated in the Chile Vamos municipal primaries for the mayoralty of Concón, narrowly defeating other candidates and becoming the coalition's nominee for the 2021 municipal elections.^[5]

During the campaign, he received public backing from national political figures, including then Minister of Defense Mario Desbordes, who endorsed his candidacy on behalf of the Chile Vamos coalition.^[6]
