Joseph Salubi is a Nigerian music executive, entrepreneur, music publisher, and artist manager, best known as CKay's manager. He is the co-founder, and MD of Boyfriend Music Limited, a music management and publishing company co-founded with CKay in 2024.[1] Salubi has worked across music management, publishing, artist development, and rights administration, and was credited for the multiple successes of Ckay's singles "Body (danz)", and "BADAMINTON".[2]

Career
Before transitioning fully into the music business, Salubi worked as a technology entrepreneur.[3] According to The49thStreet, his experience in technology informed his leadership philosophy, emphasizing long-term strategy, organizational development, and sustainable creative businesses.[3]
Salubi later entered the music industry, working in several capacities including recording artist, studio engineer, mastering engineer, artist manager, and music executive. His experience across multiple aspects of music creation and business has shaped his approach to artist management and music publishing.[4]
In 2024, Salubi co-founded Boyfriend Music Limited with CKay.[1] The company was established to provide artist management, music publishing, royalty administration, A&R services, and rights management for artists, songwriters, and producers, with operations in both Nigeria and the United States, as a subsidiary named Boyfrnd Music LLC.[1] As manager of CKay, Salubi has overseen release strategies and international marketing campaigns, including the following songs, released by Boyfriend Music, and distributed by AWAL, such as "Body (danz)" and "BADAMINTON".[2]
On 2 March 2026, TurnTable Magazine named him as the Executive of the Week for February, highlighting his work in artist development, rights management, and the international positioning of Afrobeats.[2]

On 2 March 2026, Salubi was named Executive of the Week by TurnTable, following the multiple successes of CKay's hit records "Body (danz)", and "BADAMINTON", under their music publishing company Boyfriend Music, breaking into the Nigeria Official Top 100 Songs.[2] On 3 November 2025, "Body (danz)" debuted at number 1, and on 2 February 2026, "BADAMINTON" debuted at number 11.[5]
