José Acevedo Briones (9 October 1916 – 6 July 1973) was a Chilean politician and member of the Socialist Party of Chile.[1]
He served as a Deputy in the Chamber of Deputies during the XXXIX Legislative Period of the National Congress of Chile (1941–1945), representing the 7th Departmental Group, corresponding to the Metropolitan 3rd District (Puente Alto).[1]
Acevedo was born in Fundo Santa Rita, Pirque, to Juvenal Acevedo Pinto and Carmen Briones Galaz. He married Josefina Marchant Pérez in 1938.[1]
He studied at the night school of Puente Alto and worked as a public works contractor in river defence and land movement projects. He also worked as a taxi driver and became President of the Taxi Association of Puente Alto.[1]
