It is published by Nepal Medical Association,[2] a professional association of doctors in Nepal. The current editor-in-chief is Dr. Ashis Shrestha, who was appointed in March 2024.[3]

The journal was established in September 1963. The first editor-in-chief was Dr. Mrigendra Raj Pandey.[1]
