The Justices of the Peace Act 1949[d] (12, 13 & 14 Geo. 6. c. 101) was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that amended the law relating to justices of the peace in England and Wales and Scotland.[1]

Repealed enactments

Section 46(2) of the act repealed 169 enactments, listed in parts I, II and III of the seventh schedule to the act.[2]

Subsequent developments

The whole act was repealed by section 1 of, and part 5 of schedule 1 to, the Statute Law (Repeals) Act 2013, which came into force on 31 January 2013.[3]
