Background

Born and raised in the Houston, Texas, area, Ledet was a talented basketball player, competing as a small forward for NCAA Division II Texas A&M University-Kingsville.[2] Upon quitting basketball, Ledet began training in mixed martial arts to stay in shape and was introduced to the sport through his cousin.[3]

Before joining the UFC, Ledet amassed a record of 6-0-1 with all of his wins thus far coming by stoppages, fighting almost exclusively in his home state of Texas.[4] He also held an amateur record of 3–0 before turning professional.[citation needed]
