Karawaan (Urdu: کاروان, lit.'Caravan') is a 1985 Pakistani television series written by Abdul Qadir Junejo and directed by Iqbal Ansari. It is based on the life of Sindhi folk singer Fozia Soomro.[2]

Synopsis

The story revolves around Sukhaan, a Thari folk singer.[2] The harsh desert climate, compounded by severe drought, forces Sukhaan's family, friends and many other desert inhabitants to migrate to a different area where water is available. But on the way, she gets lost and heads to the city where she tries to become a singer.[2]

Huma Akbar was selected to portray the lead role in the series after Roohi Bano opted out of the project after some problems.[1]

The principal photography for the series took place in Thar.[7]

Soundtrack

Tina Sani sang Fozia Soomro's songs in the series.[7]
