Karin Lisa von Hippel (born February 1965) is the former Director-General of the Royal United Services Institute.

Education
von Hippel holds a PhD from the London School of Economics, an MSt from Oxford, and a BA from Yale.[4]
Career
von Hippel worked for the United Nations and the European Union in Somalia and Kosovo.[5][6]
von Hippel was a senior research fellow at the Centre for Defence Studies, King’s College London.[5][6]
von Hippel co-directed the Post-Conflict Reconstruction Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC.[5][6]
von Hippel was a Senior Adviser in the Bureau of Counterterrorism in the US Department of State for six years.[5][6]
