Kavske (Ukrainian: Ка́вське) is a village in Stryi Raion, Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. It belongs to Stryi urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.[1] Local government is administered by the Kavska village council.[2] The village's population is about 1,453 people.

Geography

The village is located on the road from Uhersko to the small town Medenychi. It is located 70 kilometres (43 mi) from the regional center Lviv, 17 kilometres (11 mi) from the district center Stryi and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Medenychi.

History and Attractions

The earliest written mention dates back to 1334.[3] In Kavske, ANCIENT RUSS STRENGTHENED SETTLEMENTS, 11  — 18 centuries, is preserved (Bych and Yosypovychi).[4] Archaeological excavations have also revealed traces of Stone Age settlements (third millennium BC).
