Kazuo Ikehiro (池広一夫, Ikehiro Kazuo; 25 October 1929 – 15 October 2025) was a Japanese film director.[1][2][3] He is known for directing Zatoichi series [4] and the highly acclaimed film Onna Gokuakuchō.
In 1950, he joined the Daiei Film and started working as an assistant director under Kenji Mizoguchi etc.[1] In 1960, he was promoted to director and debuted with Bara Daimyo.[1]
Ikehiro died of a heart attack in Tokyo, on 15 October 2025, at the age of 95.[5]
