His previous roles included Chief Marketing Officer at Ryanair.[3] When Jacobs arrived at Ryanair in 2014, it was as part of a move by the airline to – as Michael O'Leary had put it – “stop unnecessarily pissing people off”.[4]
He has also worked for major companies including the Metro Group, MoneySuperMarket, and Tesco in Ireland and the UK.[5]
In December 2025 Jacobs took a leave of absence from the DAA, pending the agreement of an exit-package.[6]
