Kenny Nguyen (politician)

Nguyen was born in Colorado to Vietnamese refugees.^[2] He attended the University of Colorado Boulder as a first generation college student, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and another in communications.^[3][4]

Prior to becoming a state representative, Nguyen worked as an executive assistant to Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera.^[2] In 2023, Nguyen was elected to represent Ward 1 of the Broomfield City Council.^[1] While in office as a city councilor, he graduated with a Master of Public Administration from University of Colorado Denver.^[4]

On January 12, 2026, he was appointed to the Colorado House of Representatives to replace Rep. William Lindstedt, who left the Colorado House after he was appointed to the Colorado Senate. He is the first Vietnamese-American member of the Colorado General Assembly.^[5]
