On March5, 1935, Ovinishchensky District with the administrative center in Kesma was established on the territories which were previously a part of Vesyegonsky and Krasnokholmsky Districts.[citation needed] On July4, 1956, the district was abolished and split between Vesyegonsky and Krasnokholmsky Districts.[2]
According to Law #34-ZO, the borders of the administrative and municipal divisions of Tver Oblast are identical. Law #21-ZO lists the selo of Kesma as a part of Vesyegonsky Municipal District.
