Khordad

Khordad (Persian: خرداد, Persian pronunciation: [xoɾˈdɒːd]^[1]) is the third month of the Solar Hijri calendar.^[1] Khordad has thirty-one days.^[1] It begins in May and ends in June by the Gregorian calendar.^{[citation needed]} Khordad is the third month of the spring season (Bahar). It is followed by Tir.^[1] The Afghan Persian name is Jawzā (جَوزا). The name is derived from the deity name Haurvatat.
