Kuak Hulu is a small rural village located in the district of Gerik, in the state of Perak, Malaysia. The settlement lies within the Hulu Perak region, an area characterised by forested hills, small agricultural communities, and proximity to the East–West Highway that connects Gerik to Jeli in Kelantan.
Kuak Hulu is situated north-east of the Gerik town centre and is surrounded by secondary forest and smallholdings. The area forms part of the larger Hulu Perak district, which is known for its natural landscapes, including lakes, rivers, and forest reserves. The climate is tropical and humid year-round, with frequent rainfall.
Economy
The local economy is primarily based on small-scale agriculture, including rubber, palm oil, and fruit cultivation. Some residents engage in forestry-related work or commute to nearby Gerik for employment. The village does not have major commercial centres and relies on Gerik for most services and amenities.
