Alpine skiing

Kyrgyzstan qualified one male alpine skier, Evgeniy Timofeev.[11] Timofeev was the only athlete to represent the country four years prior in the previous Winter Games, as a last-minute injury substitute.[12]

The Alpine skiing events were held at the Jeongseon Alpine Centre in Bukpyeong. The course for the events was designed by former Olympic champion Bernhard Russi. The weather was cold and windy during the events, and it was the coldest since the 1994 Winter Olympics at Lillehammer.[13] Timofeev recorded his best finish in the men's slalom event, after he was ranked in 40th place.[14] In the men's giant slalom event, he was ranked 63rd amongst the 109 competitors.[15]
