LGBTQ culture in San Antonio

LGBT culture in the US city of San Antonio, Texas, is prevalent within the city, especially the Downtown area.[1] LGBT people have been present in the area since the 1940s.[2] San Antonio Country was a popular gay bars in the 1970s.[3]
There is a large concentration of LGBT people, especially gay people in St. Mary's Strip, colloquially referred to as "The Strip".[4] The Pride Cultural Heritage District was established in 2025.[5][6][7]
