Lagocephalus (from Ancient Greek λαγώς (lagṓs), meaning "hare", and κεφαλή (kephalḗ), meaning "head", in reference to its rabbit-like face) is a genus of pufferfishes in the family Tetraodontidae with a circumglobal distribution.[1]
