It is now part of the village of Sopota.[3] The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Sava Statistical Region.[4]

Lamovje stands in the eastern part of Sopota, on a small road branching off of the local road from Sopota to Jagnjenica.

Name

Lamovje was attested in historical sources as Lumbay c. 1420 and as Lumba in 1499.[3]
