Lani (heaven)

Lani in the Hawaiian language means 'heaven', and in some cases, 'sky'.^[1] The word is derived from Proto-Polynesian *raŋi.^[2]

Lani is a relatively common name in the Hawaiian language.^{[citation needed]} The last monarch of Hawaii, Liliʻuokalani, had a name including the term lani.^{[citation needed]}
