Latvia has participated in every edition of the World Athletics Championships since 1993,[1] two years after the USSR dissolution. Its first medal came nearly 20 years after its independence, when Ineta Radēviča third in the women's long jump at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics.[2] Her medal was later upgraded to silver, after the russian jumper was caught on doping.[3] Since then, they've stood on the podium two other times.[1]
