Lauren Karn is an American former softball player and current head coach at Maryland.[2] She previously served as the head coach at Oakland.[3]

Oakland

On July 17, 2017, Karn (formerly Cognigni) was named the head coach of the Oakland Golden Grizzlies softball team.[4]

Maryland

On August 31, 2023, Karn was named the head coach of the Maryland Terrapins softball team.[5][6]

Personal life

Karn and her husband Justin have two children. One boy, Mickey, and one girl, Sophie. Sophie was born a week before Oakland was scheduled to face Northwestern in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.[7]
