Laurie Moe Buckhout (born 1961)[2] is an American government official. She served in the United States Department of Defense as the acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber Policy from March to September 2025.[3] She was the Republican nominee for North Carolina's 1st congressional district in 2024, narrowly losing to incumbent Don Davis.[4] She is running again in 2026.[5]
Buckhout served in the United States Army for 26 years, including serving in the Gulf War. She retired as a colonel.[6]
